The key clients for this qualification are current employees within the health and community service industry requiring formal qualifications to support their job role and/or industry requirements or are those clients seeking employment within the health and community service industry where supervising a food safety program is a requirement of their job role.

* Students who have completed the Food Handler’s course with TLC or completed HLTFS207B with another provider will only be required to complete HLTFS309B and HLTFS310B to be awarded a Food Safety Supervisor’s certificate.

TLC delivers the Food Safety Supervisor course by distance only unless you have a group of 10 or more in the one workplace wishing to complete via classroom delivery.

With distance education you will be sent learning guides via the post and all correspondence will be by way of your preferred option – email, phone or mail. Although you will have access to phone and email support you will not be visited in the workplace. You will still be required to complete a practicum placement which can be undertaken at a workplace of your choice but most often it will be own place of employment. This mode of study is self paced requiring you to manage your own study time.

For workplace groups, the Food Safety Supervisor course can be offered by way of face-to-face classroom delivery and is at present only available in QLD.  We can tailor a program to suit your client’s needs and schedules.

This one day class will be delivered on your job site and you will be trained and assessed through a combination of group discussions, personal reflections, trainer lead discussions, a learning guide and practice scenarios.  Class based is a very interactive and supportive mode of study.  You will still be required to complete a practice activity which can be undertaken at a workplace of your choice but most often it will be own place of employment.

Recognition of Prior Learning is also available in any State for those believing they have acquired the skills, knowledge and experience required to be deemed competent in this unit of competency.
